Factoring is a foundational conept for all upper level math courses: Calculus is no exception. Be sure you understand all of the factoring methods listed below.
Factor Quadratics (x2 + bx + c)
When trying to factor a quadratic (with 3 terms) that has no number in front of the x2 term, you should use what we at hendermonger.com call the Multiply-Add Method.

Factor Quadratics (ax2 + bx + c)

Factor Difference of squares (x2 - a2)
